Getting your branding right is vitally important when launching to market - it ensures your potential customers get an accurate understanding of who you are and what you do. You only have one chance to make a first impression, so we’ll make sure it’s a good one!

After getting to grips with what your company does, your target market and how you wish to be perceived, we turn our attention to your competitors, analysing their brands to understand the market you operate within. Subsequently we establish your ‘core idea’, the main thing that drives your company and will drive the development of your new brand.

We now begin work on the visual elements of the brand (the logo, type face, colours etc), producing a number of solutions appropriate to the brief for you to consider and feedback on. On choosing the solution you prefer, we develop this into your final brand, producing all necessary marketing collateral that you will require to launch your brand to market.

The Brief...

The Brief...

To establish a new brand for leading city law firm Maxwell Batley and built environment specialist Winward Fearon following their intention to merge.


What We Did...

Following a three way pitch, BlackBull were appointed as lead creative team to establish the new brand, update their messaging and to refresh the creative appearance of their marketing materials including on line media. BlackBull have created a new brand which unites the two existing companies on a level playing field, so as to assure existing clients of a practice whose partners share ethic of a partner-led client service delivered in a dynamic and modern manner.

The Brief...

Winterflood Securities, part of the Close Brothers Group, commissioned BlackBull to refresh their brand and marketing materials to facilitate expansion into global markets, and to accurately represent their size and market position.


What We Did...

In order to create a brand reflective of their market position we conducted a series of studies, including both client perception studies and peer group analysis. From our findings, we established a core message for the company and developed a brand which would elevate them above their peer group.

We advised Winterflood Securities to retain their existing colour structures as the client perception study revealed it was perceived to be unique to their business and synonymous with them in the market place. The team at BlackBull developed a series of graphic icons reflective of the technical aspects of the money markets and also creating the letter 'w' from the company name. The lettering for the logo was custom made, signifying the bespoke nature of the company renowned for their ability to make a market in a unique situation.

The Brief...

With increasing competitiveness in the super yacht market, the owners of the Mirabella III approached Black Bull London to create a brand and associated marketing materials for the newly refurbished Super Yacht.


What We Did...

Conducting competitor analysis, we found Super Yacht ‘branding’ generally extended little beyond a traditional livery for the name on the vessel. We therefore aimed to set the Mirabella III apart from it’s competitors with a professional and engaging brand by creating an environment which reflects the experience of being aboard Mirabella III and allows the customer to gain an instinctive feel for the luxury and quality that Mirabella III offers.

The identity incorporates a graphic taken from visual and structural elements of the yacht that evokes the feeling of movement and speed experienced onboard.

The Brief...

To create a brand for global management consultancy, Origin Consulting. With a majority of business practices and clients in Africa, the main aim of the brand was to be culturally and ethically appropriate.


What We Did...

We aimed to create a brand and materials that would instil confidence in the local market, and communicate Origin’s understanding of the cultural differences in both business and society.

We created a brand which demonstrated the organic structure of the company, and the interdependency between their services. The use of concentric circles, and vibrant colours taken from the local tribes, reinforce this as well as Origin’s understanding of local cultures.

The Brief...

Ol Malo lodge caters for the intrepid adventurer who wants to learn about local cultures and the environment. The luxury lodge, based in the heart of the Samburu region of Kenya, commissioned BlackBull to develop their brand to appeal to this demographic.


What We Did...

At BlackBull we wanted to develop a brand that would connect with the global market and local communities alike. The lodge is uniquely located in an area with a large population of Kudu, the animal featured in the logo, and the Samburu tribe is famed for its use of bright, vibrant and earthy colours, the inspiration for the colours used. These features are instantly recogniseable to local communities, whilst signifying the experience of the lodge to potential visitors from around the world.
